GTA 6: What We Know Right Now & Should You Preorder?

If you have been keeping tabs on GTA 6, you already know this has been one of the most drawn-out waits in gaming history. After years of rumors, two official delays, and a fanbase that has collectively lost sleep over every Rockstar announcement, we finally have a locked-in release date. So here is a full rundown of where things stand right now.

The Release Date (For Real This Time)

GTA 6’s release date is set for November 19, 2026. That is the date we are going with, and there are solid reasons to believe it will stick. Take-Two Interactive confirmed it in its fiscal year 2026 earnings report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which makes it about as official as official can get.

The road to get here has been bumpy. GTA 6 was originally supposed to release in fall 2025, a window Rockstar and Take-Two had been telegraphing to investors and fans for the better part of two years. Then on May 2, 2025, the first delay was announced, pushing the release to May 26, 2026. A second delay followed in November 2025, moving it again to the current November 19, 2026 date.

So yes, this game has been delayed twice. But Rockstar has been clear about why: they want to get it right. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently doubled down on the November date during an earnings call, saying “We feel great about it.” That is about as reassuring as Rockstar’s parent company ever gets.

Will It Come to PC?

Short answer: yes, eventually. Long answer: not anytime soon. GTA 6 launches exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with no PC release date announced. This is completely in line with how Rockstar operates. GTA V took 18 months after its console launch to arrive on PC, and Red Dead Redemption 2 needed 13 months. Following this pattern, a PC version of GTA 6 is expected sometime in late 2027 or early 2028.

Rockstar typically uses the extra time after console launch to fine-tune graphics options, keyboard controls, and modding capabilities. The wait frustrates PC players, but it usually results in a noticeably better version of the game. So if you are a PC-only gamer, the honest advice is to either grab a console or settle in for a long wait.

How Much Will It Cost?

Nobody has confirmed an official price yet, but the clues are pointing in a clear direction. The standard edition is expected to cost between $70 and $80, officially debunking the viral $200 price rumors that were floating around earlier this year. Collector’s editions will likely exceed $150, based on Rockstar’s previous releases.

It is worth noting that a European retailer briefly listed the game at €99, but that was unverified and should be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism. Until Rockstar confirms something officially, the $70 to $80 range feels like the most realistic estimate for most players.

Should You Preorder a Digital Copy?

Here is where things get interesting. Rockstar has confirmed that pre-orders open on June 25, 2026, with potential bonuses including in-game currency and exclusive cosmetics. That is just days away from the time of writing.

As for whether you should actually preorder a digital copy, that really comes down to your own situation. On one hand, this is one of the most anticipated games ever made, and there is genuine excitement in finally having a concrete date and a preorder window to act on. On the other hand, digital copies do not sell out the way physical ones do, so there is no real risk of missing out if you wait. However, do keep in mind that physical copies in Pakistan are going to cost a hefty premium simply due to the demand of the title.

The honest take is this: if you are confident you want the game and you are on PS5 or Xbox, preordering saves you the hassle of remembering to buy it on launch day, AND you’d be paying far less than the physical copy you’d be able to get when the game does finally launch on November in Pakistan. But there is zero pressure to do it right now. The digital version will be sitting there on November 19, whether you preorder today or buy it the morning it drops.

Just do not go near any third-party seller offering it early at a suspiciously low price. Those are scams, full stop.

GTA 6 is shaping up to be one of the biggest gaming moments in years. November cannot come soon enough.
